With women making up less than 20% of the workforce in Switzerland, IT is still considered a male domain par excellence. At Dinotronic, we want to do our part to change this – and our budding business IT specialist Patricia Hofmann is leading the way: as a Backoffice Specialist, she has been an indispensable part of the Dinotronic team for two years, with no small amount of exciting career development. It was during her tourism studies that the former hotel businesswoman discovered her passion for IT. She recounts: “During my studies, it crystallized that my two greatest strengths are very opposite. On the one hand, I have a lot of empathy and feel what people need. On the other hand, I have a logical and analytical thinking ability. I see these two qualities combined in the profession of business informatics.“
In Dinotronic, she found an employer who supported her part-time studies to become an IT specialist at the university of applied sciences and at the same time offered her the corresponding training in the company. What she particularly appreciates about Dinotronic are the numerous development opportunities and the flexible, independent work arrangements. What does Patricia wish for the future? Making people’s lives easier with the help of technology and creating time for the really important things in life. “Finding individual technological solutions is what makes my work meaningful to me.” We wish Patricia every success in her training and look forward to accompanying her.
